John commenced practice as a Barrister-at-Law in 1986. Prior to going to the Bar he had ten years experience as a solicitor working in industrial relations. He left the role of Senior Industrial Officer for the Health Services Union (HSU) to go the Bar.

John is an industrial relations and employment law specialist. His practice areas include industrial disputes, executive contracts, occupational health and safety, discrimination, wages claims, and termination matters.

During his time at the Bar, John has specialised in problem solving and negotiating major industrial disputes in the health, education, manufacturing, construction and transport industries.

He has a diverse legal practice which includes companies, government departments, senior executives, and industrial organisations.
